CPAWS-Yukon Launches New Book on the Three Rivers
On November 10, 2005, two years and three months after the canoes from the Three Rivers Journey touched the banks of the Peel River, CPAWS launched a beautiful and compelling new book Three Rivers: The Yukons Great Boreal Wilderness (Harbour Publishing, 2005. 148 p). Three hundred people turned out to experience the sights and sounds of the Three Rivers wilderness, and listen to readings and reflections from some of the books many contributors.

Edited by Juri Peepre and Sarah Locke, this handsome anthology of photography, art images, provocative essays, stories, and poetry celebrates the Three Rivers wilderness and calls for protection of all three watersheds. Contributions from such notables as Margaret Atwood and John Ralston Saul add to the engaging prose of Three Rivers Journey participants Richard Nelson, Brian Brett, Sarah Locke, Peter Lesniak, Paul McKay and others. The collected photography of Fritz Mueller, Marten Berkman, Courtney Milne, Juri Peepre, Jannik Schou, Paul Nicklen, Peter Mather among others captures the light and essence of the Three Rivers, while the art works of the eight participating artists portray the mystery of the land and reveal new meaning in the heart of the wild.
If you have a passion for conservation and the northern wilderness, paddle Canadas wild waters or love to walk along endless mountain ridges, Three Rivers: The Yukons Great Boreal Wilderness is a must-have!
The book is available from the online shop at CPAWS-Yukon, www.cpawsyukon.org, or at independent bookstores across Canada. In Whitehorse, the book is for sale at the CPAWS office, 506 Steele Street, or Macs Fireweed on Main Street ($49.95 Cdn).
