The show is also warmly received in Halifax, where audience members enthusiastically sign the proclamation scroll after the presentation.

Journey to the Yukon's Three Rivers, featuring CPAWS-Yukon's Three Rivers Project, played to large and enthusiastic audiences throughout eastern Canada on a 5-city tour that started in Montreal April 11th and wrapped up in Toronto on April 19th. The national tour, organized by CPAWS in partnership with Mountain Equipment Co-op and the Yukon Wilderness Tourism Association, tells the Three Rivers story through slides, video and live presentation by Juri Peepre. The Marten Berkman/CPAWS art film, Three Rivers: wild waters, sacred places, and the CPAWS book, Three Rivers, the Yukon's Great Boreal Wilderness highlight the tour.

“It was inspiring to have the Yukon’s Three Rivers story received with such eagerness everywhere we visited. Canadians are fascinated with the beauty and mystery of Yukon’s clean flowing rivers and intact boreal wilderness, but also care deeply about its future,” said Juri Peepre.

“Whether it was Montreal, Ottawa, Halifax, St. John’s or Toronto, people lined up for their chance to sign the proclamation scroll in support of community conservation in the Peel watershed and Three Rivers.”

Each tour event had a distinct flavour, with superb local art displays, Inuit drummers, maritime folk singers, or presentations by some of the Three Rivers artists. CPAWS chapters spoke about their local conservation work, demonstrating the important connections between boreal forest across the country. Participants entered the draw for a 2008 trip on the Peel Watershed’s Wind River sponsored by Yukon’s Walden’s Guiding & Outfitting and Sila Sojourns.

The western half of the Three Rivers tour starts in Winnipeg on May 8th, with engagements in Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. The show visits Yellowknife on May 15th and ends with a celebration in Whitehorse on Thursday, May 17th.
